Understand the Korean in the video you're already watching.
Korean Learning Overlay helps people learning Korean understand the Korean spoken in videos they are already watching. It overlays learning subtitles on the video — the Korean line, a romanization or phonetic reading, an English line, and a speech-level badge — and explains the words and sentences in those subtitles.

What it adds that a bilingual subtitle tool doesn't
- Speech levelFormal, polite or casual — the part English subtitles always drop.
- Dictionary form들으니까 is 듣다, including the irregular verbs.
- Word cardsMeaning, dictionary form and TOPIK level, from the national Korean dictionary.
- Replay controlsRepeat a line, loop a section, hide the subtitle to shadow it.
Where it works
- YouTube — works right after install.
- Netflix — optional. The extension asks for Netflix access only when you turn it on in the popup, so installing does not grant it.
- Not supported: YouTube Shorts, live streams and picture-in-picture. Videos without Korean subtitles are skipped.
What happens to your data
To create learning subtitles, this extension reads the subtitle text on the video page and sends it to our servers for linguistic analysis. We do not keep the subtitle text — only a hash of it and the analysis result.
Some parts (sentence breakdown, expressions our rules cannot resolve, translation) are sent to a third-party AI provider. No account or device identifier is attached to those requests.
We do not sell data, we do not show ads, and this website loads no third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
